NAME:Pen Jaws
Purposely designed with the pen turner in mind, the Robert Sorby Pen Jaw set enables the accurate drilling out of the pen turning blank prior to inserting the brass tubing. Designed to fit the Patriot and the Supernova woodturning chucks the jaws incorporate a “V” groove in both jaws, which ensures you have a tight secure hold of the pen turning blank.
Mount your drill chuck (code: 718254) into the tailstock, slide and offer up the drill bit to the pen blank lock down the tailstock then simply wind and drill out the hole to take the brass tube. With the Pen Jaws being mounted on the lathe, you have more control over the speed of the motor and a much better control of the feed speed.
Tip: We recommend the use of the Colt HSS-M2 Pen Drill Bits when drilling out the acrylic and similar type pen turning blanks
