NAME:Oval shaped Skew chisel

This Skew Chisel works very similar to that of a planer and is a must for the spindle turner.   Designed by Robert Sorby, the profile allows the tool to gild effortlessly along the tool rest without fear of the edges dragging on the tool rest.   The Skew chisel will smooth cylinders, clean the end grain of spindle work, cut shallow curves, beads, pummels and v-cuts.   Just a few examples; stair balusters and chair legs.   These tools are indispensable if a fine finish is required from the tool.
