Description
Elm is a timber which is becoming scarce this is because of the destruction of the trees by the Dutch Elm disease, this does not affect the timber.
Elm is most popular with woodturners for its strong grain and colour – brown heartwood running out to pale sap.
Turning blanks might contain some knots, this however adds some character to the timber when polished. The Elm timber ideal for both bowl and spindle work. A high gloss finish can be achieved bringing out the natural beauty of the timber
Pictures show the Elm blanks in the round, square and a small turned bowl, due to the nature of timber the shades and grain pattern will differ slightly between each blank

Tip: we recommend the use of the Hermes J-Flex 100 to 400 grit for the sanding process (JF100)
