Description
Padauk (Pterocarpus Soyauxii Cameroon) Woodturning Bowl Blanks, Padauk’s heartwood colour can vary, ranging from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red. But most tend to start with a reddish orange colour when being turned or cut.
Padauk timber when freshly cut is light in colour and a high gloss finish can be achieved, the Padauk will darken substantially over time to a reddish/purplish brown and in some cases to nearly black.
Turns well and polishes well
Pictures show the Padauk in the round, square and a small turned bowl, due to the nature of timber the shades and grain pattern may differ slightly between each blank
The picture of the small bowl is an example of what you could turn with Padauk wood at the lathe.
The Padauk wood blanks are available in an array of sizes and are ideal for both faceplate / chuck bowl woodturning and spindle woodturning projects at the lathe
